Happy Birthday to an American Classic

I like to twist mine open and scrape the filling out, then dunk the wafers into milk.  How about you?

For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of an Oreo cookie, they are an American classic.  Two crispy chocolate cookies with a white frosting center.  Everyone has their favorite way of eating them.  Some people eat them whole.  Some twist the cookie apart and eat the center first.  Some are dunkers and can’t have their Oreos without a cold cup of milk.  Oreos have been made into milkshakes and ice cream, cheesecake, and come with double stuffing or different flavors.  Visit the official Oreo Birthday site for more information, to share your memories of growing up with Oreos, or to play some games.  You can even send an Oreo cookie gram.

In the UK the adverts go as follows, two little boys with glasses of milk and one says to the other, ‘First you twist it, then you lick it and then you doonk it” (Dunk) and promptly dips his into his milk.
